GES releases comprehensive sponsorship study

Global Experience Specialists (GES), a global full service provider for live events, announced a comprehensive sponsorship study with data from the top 250 U.S. tradeshows, top 50 Canadian tradeshows and top 50 Healthcare Convention & Exhibitors Association medical meetings. The research findings will help the industry add value and increase revenues and effectiveness.

The study focuses on the following key areas:

  • How organizers and exhibitors can make the most of sponsorships
  • How organizers can best sell sponsorships
  • What organizers can do to align their sponsorships with sponsor objectives
  • Information and insights for exhibitors to evaluate and optimize sponsorships

“A top priority of event organizers today is driving revenue growth and sponsorships are seen as a top area of opportunity, while exhibitors are looking to enhance the value of sponsorships,” said David Saef, executive vice president of GES MarketWorks and strategy, GES.

“Although sponsorships have been around for a long time, there is no single resource for organizations to understand how to create and sell sponsorships and how to make sure they are fully optimized. The findings from our comprehensive study fill this void and help the industry demonstrate the value of sponsorships.”

In December 2014, Saef presented a portion of the research findings at the International Association of Exhibitions and Events’, Expo! Expo! in a presentation titled “Sponsorships that Succeed.”ECN 012015_NTL_GES Sponsorship Study infographic

“I really enjoyed the presentation that [Saef] did on sponsorship data compiled from the top 250 U.S tradeshows. I was especially impressed as I am also finishing up the process of compiling information from shows within our Emerald portfolio,” commented Mallory Denny, operations coordinator, Emerald Expositions. “It was very refreshing to attend a data-centric seminar, which dived into research from other show organizers.”

Saef is scheduled to share additional research findings including:

March 5, 2015: “Standout Sponsorships” at EXHIBITORLIVE
March 12, 2015: “Sponsorship 2020: Taking sponsorships to the next level” at Large Show Roundtable
