Hyatt Hotels Corp. veteran lands at Grand Hyatt New York

The Manhattan-based Grand Hyatt New York appointed an award-winning hospitality professional as director of sales and marketing.

Brad C. Mettler brings more than 15 years of experience to his new post, and almost all of it is within the Hyatt Hotels Corp.

“We are delighted to welcome Brad,” said Mark Pardue, general manager, Grand Hyatt New York. “His experience spans all major hospitality markets, making him a great fit for a destination as diverse as New York City. His stellar record at Hyatt speaks for itself, and we look forward to having his experience and expertise at our property.”

Most recently, Mettler spent four years as the director of sales and marketing at Hyatt Regency Waikiki Beach Resort and Spa where he managed sales initiatives throughout a $13 million renovation. In Honolulu, Hyatt Hotels Corp. named his sales staff the Sales Team of the Year in 2012. In March 2013, he was awarded Hyatt’s Director of Sales and Marketing of the Year honor for large hotels.

“I am thrilled to bring my passion for Hyatt and the hospitality industry to this hotel,” said Mettler. “It’s an honor to join the Grand Hyatt New York team and to work at a property that’s an integral part of daily life in New York City.”

After beginning his career as a corporate management trainee at the Hyatt Regency New Orleans, Mettler quickly advanced through the organization, eventually overseeing sales and marketing efforts in Lake Tahoe, Nev., Albuquerque, N.M., La Jolla, Calif., Greenville, S.C. and others.

The 1,306-room Grand Hyatt New York is a part of Hyatt Hotels Corp., a global hospitality company.
