Tom Harper was promoted to VP of sales, marketing and business development, and Brooks Boughton to VP of operations at Kentucky Trailer Technologies, Kentucky Trailer’s specialty trailer and vehicle division located near Detroit, in Walled Lake, Michigan.

Harper will be responsible for sales operations, marketing, new business development and administrative functions of the technologies division. As vice president, he will report directly to Gary Smith, president and CEO of Kentucky Trailer in Louisville, Kent.

Harper brings 13 years of industry experience with him to this new position and has served Kentucky Trailer Technologies previously as systems manager, general manager and director of sales and marketing, with a current promotion to vice president of sales, marketing and business development. His previous career was in the marine industry, where he served as director of purchasing and materials management at Michigan-based Eagle Trailer. Harper’s plans are for continued market share growth and entrenchment of the specialty trailer, truck and vehicle division, with special emphasis on recently-entered defense, mobile medical imaging, and TV/broadcast vehicle markets.

Boughton’s responsibilities at Kentucky Trailer Technologies began twelve years prior as the director of engineering. With his current promotion, he will now oversee manufacturing, production, engineering and purchasing at the Kentucky Trailer Technologies location. As vice president of operations, he will also report directly to Gary Smith. Boughton’s future goals are to increase efficiency on the production floor to maximize output based on square footage. Boughton also expects the Walled Lake, Mich., division to attain ISO 9001 certification by the end of 2011.

Prior to Kentucky Trailer Technologies, Boughton graduated from Western Michigan University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering. He also worked in the engineering field where his design experience dates back to 1994.
