The San Diego-based Hospitality + Events Fight Back (HEFB-20) coalition and the Live for Life coalition announce a strategic partnership elevating the positive impact they can bring to a cross-section of industries and global community. Together, with Go LIVE Together, they hope to create new business opportunities by providing a platform for innovation and strategic execution and co-promoting a “virtual hackathon.”
The HEFB-20 Virtual Hackathon is designed to bring together leaders from a cross-section of industries to identify and hack at COVID-19 related challenges and opportunities. Registration for the first round of the hackathon is open and will take place from June 8-12. The Pitch Competition is open to the public and will take place as a live virtual event on June 12 from 3-4:30pm PT. The overall project management of the HEFB-20 Virtual Hackathon will serve as a capstone project for Masters students at San Diego State University in the Hospitality and Tourism and Meeting and Event Management programs.
Hospitality + Events Fights Back focuses on the cultivation of Public-Private partnerships and strategic alignment of a cross section of industries. The coalition is using a Syzygy Cities methodology to address COVID-19 related challenges. HEFB’s goal is to create opportunities for the hospitality and events industries to mobilize workforces and re-purpose resources to stimulate the economy and support global response to COVID-19.
The Live for Life coalition brings together hundreds of event companies and organizations that support live events. The initiative is focused on designing and engineering infrastructure and service solutions to support current COVID-19 related challenges and emerging innovations.
“Collaboration is crucial in solving the complex health and economic challenges brought to us by the COVID-19,” says Tracy Judge, founder and chief connector of Soundings Connect. “The alignment of the HEFB-20 and Live for Life coalitions gives us the agility needed to create real impact and drive change. Live events will play a crucial role in economic recovery in the United States and around the world. The collective goal is not to protect what we had but to create a sustainable future for our industries. The initiatives will encourage innovation and collaboration by co-promoting the HEFB-20 Virtual Hackathon.”
“As a leading experiential marketing agency, innovation has always been at the core of our business success,” says Scott Kellner, VP of Marketing at George P. Johnson Experience Marketing. “We are proud to support an initiative that encourages diversity of thought and collaboration across industries.”
