TSEA celebrates 45 years in 45 hours

TSEAForty-five years ago in October, the Trade Show Exhibitors Association (TSEA) was founded by a group of corporate exhibit managers looking for better ways manage their marketing programs and help their companies market themselves more effectively at tradeshows and events.

During October, the TSEA kicked off its 45th Anniversary with the launch of a 45-hour online celebration designed to engage exhibitors worldwide, while supporting a great cause.

Since its inception in 1966, the world of exhibit marketing has changed. What has not changed is TSEA’s commitment to its members, the tradeshow medium, and a sincere desire by all to make face-to-face marketing the best it can be for delivering qualified leads and sales results for all exhibitors.

With this rich history in mind and its continuing commitment to making face-to-face events better for all, TSEA started its 45th year with a 45-hour celebration designed to engage and support greater numbers of exhibitors and contribute to a great cause: fighting breast cancer.

Over the last few years, TSEA has shown it is an innovative voice and force in the exhibition industry and continues to be relevant to the world of exhibit marketing. With its award-winning newsjournal, AboutFace, its successful Face-to-Face Connections hosted buyer events, the Red Diamond Congress and the upcoming TSEA MarketPlace, TSEA fulfills its mission of exhibitor education and improving tradeshow performance even better than when it was conceived in 1966.

On Monday, October 24, the TSEA offered special membership bonuses to all exhibitors and suppliers, including current members, past members and new members. For every membership renewal or new member application, TSEA donated $45 to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.  A special countdown clock was posted on the TSEA website, so everyone could see the progress of the membership drive and the donation total as the campaign progressed toward its conclusion on Wednesday.

In addition to the membership bonuses, all new members and renewing members received two free webinars, one live and one pre-recorded, from TSEA’s extensive education library; a $45 discount on attendance at an upcoming TSEA event in 2012 (including the Red Diamond U. – a combined Emerging Leaders/Master’s Conference in January, or the 2012 Red Diamond Congress in July); a $45 discount on advertising for Allied members on TSEA’s website or the new Marketplace; and a special “TSEA Fights for You” breast cancer awareness T-shirt.

“This was our way of saying thank you to our current and past active and allied members, and encouraging exhibitors everywhere to join TSEA, learn more about face-to-face marketing and make a difference for themselves, their companies, and the lives of others,” said Margit Weisgal, president and CEO of TSEA.
