Composed especially for the occasion, the main message of the work, created by Zbigniew Preisner, one of Poland’s most outstanding composers, is the place of human beings in history, modern civilization and existential transience. Both the music and the libretto, written by Ewa Lipska, refer to Krakow’s past social and cultural atmosphere, which will be recalled during the concert in an unconventional and original manner.
To be performed in the Auditorium Hall, the largest room at the ICE Kraków Congress Centre, the venue will be one of Poland’s best concert halls with the newest forms of technology including sound reflectors installed above the stage; movable screens reflecting sound that are able to regulate the time of after-sounds; and seats with the highest acoustic, ergonomic and durability specifications. The hall can accommodate cultural events, conferences and congresses for up to 2,000.
