Atlanta’s largest corporate meeting returned from June 12-15, bringing an estimated 35,000 attendees and an economic impact of more than $25 million to the city.
Primerica hosted its biennial summer convention at the Georgia World Congress Center and the Georgia Dome.
“Primerica is one of the largest conventions in the country and a strong economic driver for our city,” said William Pate, president and CEO, ACVB. “The Primerica convention is a great example of a hometown corporation that not only supports our local economy but provides an additional boost by hosting their international meeting here.”
Primerica celebrated a major milestone in 2013 with the recent move into their new international headquarters in Duluth, Ga. With a total of 365,000 square feet, it is the largest office in Gwinnett County, housing 1,600 Primerica employees. Representatives from across North America had an opportunity to tour their brand new facilities for the first time at the convention.
“This has been an historic year for our company as we moved into our new international headquarters and hosted a ribbon cutting ceremony, including attendance by hundreds of representatives, employees, government officials and featured Georgia Governor Nathan Deal and our founder, Art Williams, as our keynote speakers,” said John Addison, chairman and co-CEO, Primerica Distribution. “We had a strong first quarter with revenues of $308.4 million and net income of $38.8 million. Through May, we have continued our momentum, with strong representative recruiting growth, up 8 percent over last May, and we feel very positive that our convention will spark momentum in our business.”
