Danica Tormohlen has joined the Exposition Development Company Inc. (ExpoDevCo) staff, taking on the new role of Content Director, Publisher and Editor-in-Chief for the Society of Independent Show Organizers (SISO). In her role, Tormohlen will be responsible for all SISO media activities, communications and content creation.
Effective today, Tormohlen joins the SISO management team full time after spending the last 14 months working as an independent contractor on multiple case studies and communications projects for SISO. She has covered the trade show industry since 1994. Most recently, Tormohlen served as editor-at-large for Trade Show Executive. For 10 years, she wrote and produced content, including news, features, case studies and profiles for the monthly magazine, weekly e-newsletter, social media channels and the website. Prior to that, Tormohen served as editor-in-chief and publisher of EXPO magazine, where she worked from 1994 to 2010.
SISO and ExpoDevCo recently signed another three-year extension to the management services agreement in place since 2015. The new agreement runs through the end of 2024. Services provided by ExpoDevCo include all Association staff, member services, and event management, with David Audrain serving as CEO & Executive Director. Tormohlen will report directly to the CEO.

During the course of her career, Tormohlen has won numerous awards for outstanding editorial and design, including the Folio: Eddie Award for Editorial Excellence and several Azbee Awards for Editorial Excellence in business-to-business journalism. She is active in the tradeshow and publishing industries. Tormohlen currently serves as Co-Chair of the Education & Events Committee for the Women In Exhibitions Network North American Chapter. Previously, she served on the education committee for the International Association of Exhibitions & Events (IAEE). She has spoken at a variety of industry events, including SISO, IMEX, IAEE, UFI, Large Show Roundtable, American Business Media, ASBPE, Trade Show Executive Gold 100 Summit, Trade Show Executive Fastest 50 Summit and many more.
With this depth and breadth of programming experience and industry connections, she will develop and manage the content for each SISO conference, coordinating and leading the SISO Content Planning Committees. The next SISO conference is the CEO Summit, which will be held March 21-24, in St. Petersburg, Florida. Other conferences in 2022 include the SISO Summer Conference, which will be held Aug. 9-11 in Oklahoma City, and the Asia CEO Summit, which will be held Oct. 4-6 in Singapore.
