Upcoming Atlantic City Events

In Q1, Meet AC and the Atlantic City Sports Commission hosted 11 events across the destination, with eight at the Atlantic City Convention Center. The economic impact showed a significant increase over 2020 and 2021, resulting in 23,211 room nights booked for meetings, conventions and events, generating $34,670,259 in revenue for the destination.

“As we continue to learn how to live with COVID-19, we’re seeing more event planners begin to host their meetings and conventions in person in our destination,” says Meet AC’s President and CEO, Larry Sieg. “As we move into the high seasons of spring and summer, we’re expecting to see these events increase in frequency and size. This spring, we’re expecting to see a total of 23,600 room nights generating $27 million in economic impact for Atlantic City.”

Q2 SPORTING EVENTS IN ATLANTIC CITY 

Boardwalk Block Party

The Boardwalk Block Party will take place at the Atlantic City Convention Center from April 9 – 10. Volleyball teams and club families will come play in the tournament to end the season, while also having a chance to explore the boardwalk and enjoy the spring sun on the beach. The event expects 7,000 attendees, 4,000 room nights and $3,978,784 in economic impact.

ZG Live in Atlantic City

Zero Gravity is a basketball program that offers players of every skill level to have a fun and professional tournament experience. From April 22 – 24, the ZGXL Circuit will make its second stop of the season in Atlantic City where top teams from all corners of the East Coast will compete for the winning title. The event expects 7,000 attendees, 3,000 room nights and $6,223,629 in economic impact.

Pride Run Atlantic City

On April 23, guests can come and run or walk the Atlantic City Boardwalk along the Atlantic Ocean for the Pride Run, hosted by the New Jersey Pride Chamber of Commerce. Following the 5k and 10k run, guests can visit the Pride Run Atlantic City Celebration Party and Health & Wellness Expo, which offers a fun atmosphere with entertainment and exhibitors. The event is expecting 450 attendees at the 5k and 10k run, 161 room nights, and $157,147 in economic impact in support of the LGBTQ Community.

Select Events Tournaments: The Main Event

Select Events, the premier girls basketball tournament provider on the East Coast and in the Midwest, is hosting The Main Event from April 30 – May 1 at the Atlantic City Convention Center. Elementary through High School teams can register for a guaranteed three game run within the tournament. The Main Event has an anticipated audience of 7,000 people, as well as 4,000 room nights and $3,937,594 in economic impact.Zero Gravity NJ State Championships

Zero Gravity will be bringing their New Jersey State Championships to the Atlantic City Convention Center from May 14 – 15, where over 200 teams from around the Garden State will come to play to be crowned the state champions. This event expects 3,500 attendees, 1,500 room nights, and $2,290,130 in economic impact.

Select Events Tournaments: Atlantic City Showcase

Select Events will also host the Atlantic City Showcase from May 20 – 22 at the Atlantic City Convention Center, where registered teams of girls from grades 6 – 11 will have the opportunity to play a guaranteed four games to compete in front of college coaches. The event expects 7,000 attendees, 6,825 room nights and $3,937,594 in economic impact.

Rock ‘n’ Roll Atlantic City

From May 14 – 15, the Rock ‘n’ Roll Running Series will host its inaugural Atlantic City event, which offers 5k and half marathon distances. Participants will get to run a coastal course along the boardwalk with postcard worthy views of the beach. This event anticipates a rockin’ 12,000 attendees, 1,000 room nights and $2,977,668 in economic impact.

American Cancer Society Bike-A-Thon

On June 12, the American Cancer Society will celebrate 50 years of riding for a world without cancer with their Bike-A-Thon: Bridge to the Beach event. Participants will start at Philadelphia’s Ben Franklin Bridge and take scenic routes through Jersey to their finish line in Atlantic City. This event expects 3,000 attendees, 40 room nights and $432,607 in economic impact.

Q2 CONVENTIONS, CONFERENCES & EVENTS IN ATLANTIC CITY

Business Network for Offshore Wind 2022 IPF

The International Offshore Wind Partnering Forum will be held at the Atlantic City Convention Center from April 26 – 28. The event connects global leaders and businesses in the supply chain industry to deliver the most timely and relevant updates on the industry, from technology and policy, to safety and siting. The event will have over 200 exhibitors, over 100 speakers, and anticipates 2,000 attendees, 1,508 room nights and $1,654,083 in economic impact.

2022 CHAMPS East Coast Trade Show

Continuing its 23-year streak, the CHAMPS Trade Show, known as the premier counter-culture, business-to-business trade expo serving the smoke shop industry, is holding its second show of the year from May 3 – 5 at the Atlantic City Convention Center. Hundreds of exhibitors, including manufacturers, glass artists and suppliers will showcase a massive selection of their products. The event expects 6,100 attendees, 450 room nights and $1,802,960 in economic impact.NJAA Conference & Expo

The New Jersey Apartment Association (NJAA) Conference and Expo returns to New Jersey from May 24 – 26 at the Atlantic City Convention Center. Owners, regional managers, leasing and maintenance professionals will attend three days of networking and education provided by their vendor members. The event anticipates 1,525 attendees, 1,406 room nights, and $1,803,121 in economic impact.

Police Security Expo

On June 28 – 29, the 36th Annual Police Security Expo will take place at the Atlantic City Convention center to empower the law enforcement community. The showcase, featuring goods, products and services for law enforcement and security professionals is expecting 8,000 attendees, 1,287 room nights and $3,406,000 in economic impact.

WHAT’S NEW IN ATLANTIC CITY

The Yard at Bally’s Atlantic City

Construction at Bally’s Atlantic City is underway for the summer 2022 opening of their brand new 5,100-square-foot enclosed beer hall. The Yard will feature a full-service dining room and bar, blackjack tables, foosball and billiards, lounge areas and a 300-foot performance stage, along with an outdoor area that will seat nearly 200 people around fire pits, cornhole boards, yard games and a 200-foot stage. Guests can also look forward to a gastro-pub style menu with a curated tap list featuring local and national brewers and craft cocktails.

Charge Your Cars at the Atlantic City Convention Center

The Atlantic City Convention Center will soon have two new electric vehicle charging stations following the $1 million in grants awarded by the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities. This location is among one of the 24 key tourist destinations in New Jersey chosen for this installation as part of the State’s Electric Vehicle Tourism Program, in their effort to reduce emissions from vehicles through electric vehicle infrastructure investment.
