LEAP East 2026 brought more than 25,000 attendees to the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC) for the first Asian edition of Saudi Arabia’s LEAP technology conference brand.
LEAP East fills 35,000 square meters
The event used more than 376,700 square feet of rentable space in Hall 1 and Hall 3. It brought together 300 startups and 600 investors, a group organizers say represented more than 6.5 trillion U.S. dollars in assets under management.
Organizers say 55 percent of attendees came from outside Hong Kong, including international visitors and attendees from mainland China. Local attendees made up the remaining 45 percent.
Three-year return deal secured
LEAP East marked the first flagship edition of Saudi Arabia’s LEAP technology conference brand held outside the Middle East. HML also describes it as Hong Kong’s largest inaugural technology event.
Tahaluf, the organizer behind LEAP, has committed to keeping LEAP East in Hong Kong for a three-year run. The event is set to return to HKCEC in 2027.
“Hong Kong was the natural choice to launch a brand like LEAP, and the HKCEC has proven to be the ideal venue to foster collaboration and innovation,” says Annabelle Mander, executive vice president of Tahaluf and co-creator of LEAP.
HKCEC builds its MICE calendar
HML says LEAP East adds to HKCEC’s role as a Meetings, Incentives, Conventions, and Exhibitions (MICE) venue in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
The venue has also added Muslim-friendly services for international visitors. HKCEC says it has received Gold Certification for MICE venues from CrescentRating.
The Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre is a 306,000-square-meter venue in Hong Kong’s central business district, with 91,500 square meters of rentable space.
