HKCEC Hosts 25 New Exhibitions and Conferences

The Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC) hosted 25 exhibitions and conferences new to the venue during its 2025-26 financial year, with several debut events set to return in 2027, according to the venue’s management company.

Those events formed part of 786 events held from July 2025 through June 2026. The total included 128 exhibitions, 81 international and local conferences, and other events ranging from corporate meetings to banquets and entertainment. Combined attendance across the year exceeded 7.7 million, management reported.

First visits, repeat bookings

Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (Management) Limited (HML), which operates the venue, said its business development efforts focused on medical, innovation and technology, finance, and education events. New arrivals included Hong Kong Comic Con 2026 and two medical congresses making their first appearances in the city.

Following its debut, Hong Kong Comic Con will return to HKCEC May 28-30, 2027. Meanwhile, other organizers have made longer-term commitments to Hong Kong.

According to HML, Vinexposium will end Vinexpo Asia’s rotation between Hong Kong and Singapore and hold the wine and spirits tradeshow annually in Hong Kong starting in 2027. The next edition will take place at HKCEC June 8-10.

Art Basel Hong Kong will also return to the venue in 2027. Separately, Hong Kong’s Culture, Sports and Tourism Bureau announced a five-year collaboration agreement with Art Basel in March 2026, reinforcing the city as its exclusive regional host. HKCEC has hosted Art Basel Hong Kong since 2013.

A healthy slate of arrivals

The venue’s medical conference bookings included the ninth World Congress of Pediatric Cardiology & Cardiac Surgery, which drew more than 3,000 participants from around the world, according to HML. HKCEC also hosted the 15th China Chest Pain Centers Congress, marking that event’s first appearance in Hong Kong.

Since the financial year ended, the venue has hosted additional events in technology and health. These included the inaugural LEAP East, an Asian edition of the Middle Eastern technology fair, in July, followed by the inaugural Global Unicorn Summit in August and the World Cancer Congress in September.

HKCEC will also host Amazing Toy Show Hong Kong for the first time in December.

The venue opened in 1988 and offers 91,500 square meters of rentable space within a 306,000-square-meter waterfront building. The Hong Kong government and the Hong Kong Trade Development Council own the facility.
