AFR Event Furnishings Acquires San Diego-Based Plush Lounge

In the midst of a significant expansion, AFR Event Furnishings has strengthened its position throughout California and the west coast by acquiring San Diego-based Plush Lounge Furniture Rental.

“The marriage between AFR and Plush Lounge is ideal,” says David Wright, founder of Plush Lounge. “Plush was a rapidly growing company, but only had a regional SoCal reach. AFR is an established leader nationwide in event furniture rentals that can provide sourcing capabilities in 14 markets to support the expanding needs of current clients, and it has the solid infrastructure necessary to enable growth at a much faster rate than if we tried to grow independently. We are excited to join AFR’s impressive team.”

When its doors opened in 2007, Wright, a former Marine helicopter pilot-turned-event professional and entrepreneur, set out to make Plush Lounge Southern California’s go-to rental furniture solution. Within four years, he built a respected brand that had the reputation for providing outstanding furnishings and customer service – a business philosophy right in line with AFR’s core values.

“The main factor in agreeing to be acquired by AFR was the quality of people on its team,” explains Wright. “Everyone on AFR’s team has the same dedication as we do at Plush. I believe that great teams can accomplish exponential results, and the leadership provided by AFR will propel us to the highest levels.”

From this point on, Plush will operate as AFR Event Furnishings in California and the surrounding regions. AFR will absorb Plush’s inventory, which emphasizes high-quality furnishings and accent pieces, while bringing more of its upscale offerings to the area for increased selection and more cost effective pricing for clients.
