Tradeshow exhibit firm Zig Zibit Inc., a custom exhibit company that designs and manufactures exhibit booths and displays, played a high-profile role in the Extreme Makeover: Home Edition Project reality TV show on national ABC Television.
Zig Zibit employees joined hundreds of other volunteers – including First Lady Michelle Obama – to remake the Steps-N-Stages Jubilee House for homeless women who are military veterans in Fayetteville, North Carolina.
A team of the hit ABC reality TV show contacted Zig Zibit shortly before the project began on June 14. Extreme Makeover: Home Edition wanted the company to create one of the rooms in a new house for Barbara Marshall, a 15-year Navy veteran and a former chaplain. The center offers shelter, support and services such as mentoring and life coaching. At any given time, Marshall housed up to three veterans and their families in the small, 1,500 square foot house. The new home is more than three times the size, and is able to accommodate more families and services.
A team of Zig Zibit employees worked around the clock to build a room in the new home in a week after the Marshall family and several veterans and families in the house were taken on a vacation at Disney World.
The Extreme Makeover: Home Edition team knew that Zig Zibit would be an ideal fit for the project with an expertise for creative use of functional space with flair.

But it’s not every day that we get a chance to make a difference like this.”
