CEIR’s 2013 conference to ‘Predict’ future of HM and RM sectors

Brought by the Center for Exhibition Industry Research (CEIR), a research agency for the exhibition industry, Predict’s HM and RM experts will engage the audience in discussion focused on trends in commercial and residential housing, new markets driving the sector, new construction and projections for the coming year, availability of credit, and the impact of interest rates.

“The outlook for home building and remodeling has improved considerably over the past year, with annual housing starts expected to increase by nearly 20 percent to over 900,000 units in 2013 and accelerate beyond the million-unit pace in early 2014,” said Jerry Howard, CEO, National Association of Home Builders (NAHB). “Such improvement in production is triggering significant growth in NAHB’s annual exhibition sales and membership.”

Session panelists include Howard; Megan Tanel, vice president of exhibitions, Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM); and Kimberly Lewis, senior vice president/community advancer, U.S. Green Building Council. Moderating the session is Rick McConnell, president of Hanley Wood.

“Responding to the positive changes we began to see with the economy, AEM announced plans to launch CONEXPO in Latin America by 2015,” said Tanel. “Not only is this a result of our members’ needs for global opportunities despite a domestic economic downturn, but it also demonstrates our commitment to investing in events on an international scale to fuel the exhibition industry and solidify our position for long-term growth. This allows us to diversify our business markets while managing our costs until the economy steadies.”

At CEIR Predict, all 14 sectors of the exhibition industry will be presented to executives, debt providers, private equity firms, investment firms, merger and acquisition firms and the general financial community. Predict is an event for executives in the exhibition industry and financial community for effective and strategic planning purposes in regard to exhibitions in the coming year.
