Smart City Networks has announced that it will continue to serve as the event technology provider at the Washington State Convention Center (WSCC) in Seattle, Wash. Effective this month, the center renewed its contract with Convention Communication Provisioners Inc. (CCPI), a subsidiary of Smart City Networks, extending its 10-year relationship with the event technology service provider for an additional two years.
Since 2001, CCPI has provided event technology services, including telecommunications, data and Internet services, at the Washington State Convention Center.
“We are proud of our partnership with the Washington State Convention Center and look forward to continuing to provide the facility with its telecommunication and Internet services,” said Mark Haley, president of Smart City Networks. “The WSCC hosts the technology industry’s best and brightest regularly, and we understand how important it is for the center to successfully meet their growing technology needs.”
Smart City will upgrade the WSCC’s circuitry, implementing a new Gigabit Ethernet (GigE) circuit to increase the available bandwidth and better accommodate more users and devices while also mirroring the technically advanced systems of the WSCC’s new addition, The Conference Center. With these upgrades, the center’s infrastructure will be capable of delivering faster Internet speeds, which will minimize download times and increase connection speeds. Smart City is also upgrading the center’s Avaya phone system to ensure the latest features are available.
“Seattle has been at the technical forefront for many years, and the events we host frequently require extensive networking services,” said Jim Snook, Smart City’s general manager at the WSCC. “Few centers can exceed the amount of technology that we provide to our guests.”
Using the latest technology, Smart City will continue to provide the WSCC with high-speed Internet access using Ethernet protocols as well as offering turnkey data networking services, including local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs) and private networks.
“The Washington State Convention Center is pleased to extend our operating agreement with Smart City,” said John Christison, president and CEO of the WSCC. “We have had a very good and productive working relationship, and we are pleased with the service that Smart City provides to our clients.”
